Call me backHow you switch to eConta
Taking over the accounting in four steps. Each one says who does it: you notify and sign, your current accountant hands over, and we do the rest.
- You and eConta
We set the start date
On the phone we look at what the company does and choose the month we start working from. It can be any month of the year.
- You
Tell your current accountant
In writing, with the notice period in your contract, and ask for the documents to be handed over. You sign the authorisation for eConta online in the Virtual Private Space (SPV).
- Current accountant
Closes the month and hands over the documents
Files the returns for the month before the start date and hands over the trial balance, the returns with their receipts and the registers, with a handover record.
- eConta
Taking over the accounting
From the start date, your eConta accountant looks after the company: records the documents, closes the month, files the returns.
What holds most people back
-
“My old accountant won’t give me the documents.”
The documents and registers belong to the company, not to the accountant. You ask for them in writing, with the template below. Filed returns and eFactura invoices are visible in SPV anyway.
The document list and the request -
“If I switch mid-year, will some months have no returns?”
No. Your current accountant closes the month before the start date, and we work from there on. Returns already filed remain valid.
-
“Who is responsible for the mistakes so far?”
Each accountant, for the months they worked. We are responsible from the start date. Anything to clarify on the last trial balance, you clarify with your current accountant while they still work for you.

What eConta clients say
“I've worked with eConta for over a year, and what won me over is predictability. I send documents straight from WhatsApp, I get quick answers, and I know exactly what I have to do and by when. There is no more "I forgot" or "I didn't know".”
“The platform is well thought out: I have clarity on payment obligations, clear steps for what I have to do, and a predictable response time from the accountant. For an entrepreneur, that means being able to focus on the business, not on accounting.”
“I've been with eConta since the start of the company, in January 2024. I haven't missed a single payment deadline thanks to the notifications, and I can send any document straight from WhatsApp. Simple and hassle-free.”
“I use eConta to the fullest: invoicing, supplier notifications, recurring contracts, WhatsApp for documents, reminders for obligations. For a tech company like ours, it's exactly the kind of tool that disappears from view, because it simply works.”
Questions about switching accountant
Who is responsible for the previous accountant’s mistakes?
Work done before the start date stays the responsibility of whoever did it. Towards ANAF (National Agency for Fiscal Administration), the company is responsible anyway, through its administrator. We are responsible for the months we work, from the start date. That is why it is worth looking at the last trial balance before the takeover: anything to clarify, you clarify with your current accountant while they still work for you.
Can I switch accountant in the middle of the year?
Yes, in any month. Your current accountant closes the month before the start date and files its returns; from the start date, we work. Returns already filed remain valid.
What do I do if I don’t get the documents from my old accountant?
The documents and registers belong to the company, not to the accountant. You ask for them in writing (use the handover request template on this page) and keep a copy of the request. Filed returns and eFactura invoices are visible in SPV anyway. If the handover is late, tell your eConta accountant: they will tell you what can be taken over from SPV and what still has to be requested.
How much does the takeover cost?
The subscription starts from 49 € per month, excluding VAT, with 30 documents included; the price grows only with the size of the company and you see it exactly in the price calculator. If at the takeover we find months that were not worked or have to be redone, we tell you what that involves and what it costs before we start, not after.
Do I have to meet someone or go to an office?
No. We talk on the phone or on video, you send the documents from the app, by email or on WhatsApp, and the SPV authorisation is done online.
What happens if I don’t get along with the new accountant?
We change your accountant. This is our guarantee for every eConta client: if your working styles don’t match, you work with someone else on the team, without starting over.
