Questions about online shop accounting

How much does accounting cost for an online shop?

From 49 € a month, with 30 documents included. The settlements module is included, with 1 payment processor. The price grows with the number of invoices and documents, with VAT and, if you keep goods in stock, with stock records, which cost nothing as long as you stay within 30 documents a month. Example: online shop with ~100 orders a month and eMAG settlement reports, VAT-registered: about 185 € a month. Prices do not include VAT. You find the exact price in the price calculator.

How are eMAG sales recorded?

You upload the eMAG settlement or send it by email. eConta splits it by order and matches it to the money in your bank and to your invoices, with the commission shown separately. Your accountant issues the document “Processor settlements” and records the sales from it. Payments go into your balances.

How are eMAG vouchers treated in accounting?

It depends on who pays for the voucher: eMAG or you, as the seller. The settlement shows the related amounts separately, and your accountant records them as needed. If you sell with vouchers, tell your accountant about your campaigns on the first call.

Do I need a fiscal cash register for an online shop?

It depends on how you get paid. In general, distance sales paid online or through a courier follow different rules from cash payments at a physical point of sale. Your accountant tells you what applies, based on how you sell. A fiscal cash register, if you need one, is included in the price you see in the calculator.

What CAEN code does an online shop use?

For retail sale over the internet, CAEN code 4791 is often used. Since 2025, with CAEN Rev.3, the classification has been updated, so check the valid code in the article about CAEN Rev.3. The codes are chosen at setup by the lawyer who files the documents. Your accountant tells you what they mean for tax.

Which processors and marketplaces do you cover?

PayU, Stripe, PlatiOnline, Trendyol, Skroutz, DPD and Ecolet are recognised automatically. You upload the eMAG, Netopia and FAN cash-on-delivery settlements (CSV/Excel) or send them by email or WhatsApp, and eConta matches them to your bank and invoices. PayPal, Payoneer, Revolut and Wise settlements are imported and matched to your invoices.
